Christof Lorenz – Founder & Managing Director
Christof Lorenz is the founder and Managing Director of Automotive Quality Consulting and an expert in quality costs, supplier recovery and strategic OEM negotiations.
He brings many years of experience from senior roles at Porsche (Head of Supplier Recovery) and Volkswagen (Project Manager Quality / Procurement) and has successfully led more than one hundred cases related to quality cost management. His core strength lies in the combination of engineering expertise, data analysis, commercial assessment and negotiation leadership — with the objective of measurably reducing quality and recovery costs for suppliers.
Timo Niehues – Principal
Timo Niehues is a partner at Automotive Quality Consulting and specialises in warranty consulting as well as field and serial failure analysis.
With professional experience across quality, warranty and safety at Volkswagen Group Components, as well as hands-on involvement in supplier recovery at Volkswagen Passenger Cars and warranty management at Hella, he combines deep technical detail knowledge with data-driven analytical expertise. His focus is on the structured assessment of warranty cases and the reduction of excessive OEM chargebacks.
Patrick Engl – Senior Project Manager
Patrick Engl is Senior Project Manager at Automotive Quality Consulting and an expert in the technical analysis of hardware and software as well as quality strategy for root cause resolution and failure prevention in vehicle development.
Previously, he held roles as Head of Quality Analysis, Head of Electric Drivetrain Components & Software at Porsche, and Coordinator for Vehicle Powertrain and Software. His particular strength lies in the precise analysis of complex technical interdependencies and a systematic approach to root cause resolution — forming a key foundation for robust claim and warranty management.
